Queen Edidiong Umoh, a three-time Nigerian pageant winner recently marked her 30th birthday in grand style.
During an interview session with our media team, the famous beauty queen stated how excited she is to turn this new age, having faced numerous challenges yet emerged stronger and better.
“It is a special birthday for me. I thank God for the opportunity. Also, my lovely family and husband, I am deeply grateful for all the love and support,” the Cross River based beauty queen, said.
“There’s no Life without challenges; with challenge come perseverance and gumption. I am happy I never allowed any of the obstacles I had in the past deter my progress”.
From 2016 to 2021, Edidiong graciously held the following titles - Face of Val Classic 2016/17, Academic Beauty Queen Nigeria 2017/19, and Next Rated International Model 2020/21 respectively. During her reign as a Pageant Queen, she committed to impacting and changing the lives of youths in rural communities through several projects in Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Lagos State respectively. Through her projects she advocated for quality Education for both gender, and preservation of menstrual health for women and girls.
Edidiong, through her pageant platform founded The Lassian Foundation for Gender Rights and Advocacy, a non governmental and not for profit organization aimed at empowering both gender to thrive through education and health.
Her humanitarian deeds earned her several awards and recognitions, such as NAESIM Humanitarian Queen of the year 2018, Most Outstanding Beauty Queen 2018, Award of Service 2019, Recognition on Nigeria Beauty Queen Hall of Fame 2020, amongst others. She also gained some endorsement deals, and is an Ambassador to Fourwall Magazine, Nigeria’s number model magazine.
The Beauty Queen is married to TM Tony Ebigwai, a Broadcast Journalist and Presenter at Correct FM Radio, and is currently the Executive Assistant to the Founder of The Cross River Movement.
On her vision for the future, she said: “I am definitely optimistic about my vision for this new age and hope I can achieve greater things in the nearest future”.
