The event whose theme was “Unity in Diversity ” kicked off at 11am with registration of participants including children with special needs, had about 200 people in attendance and worthy of note are personalities like Representatives from Justice Development and Peace Commission from 12 Apostles Catholic Church, guests from INEC, NNPC, IE Consult, Funtaj School, Federal Ministry of Health, Media Houses (NTA, AIT, FRCN)n Mrs. Mensah (CEO Pat Silver Foundation) as well as Prof. Eseigbe (Prof. Pediatric Neurology Benue State University Teaching Hospital) .
At its peak, the celebration took a different dimension to comprise of entertaining activities such as fashion parade, sack race and choreography by the children with special needs as well as “Angels’ Bin Bag” championed by HRM Queen Carmelita Akieh and Fulani dance where Queen Carmelita Akieh also displayed tactful dance steps hence, representing her office “Northern Queen,” very well. To cap it all was dish presentation as it was a cultural affair and invitees were encouraged to come along with their local meals.
In her words, during her interview wit AIT correspondent, HRM Queen Carmelita Akieh, urged other Beauty Queens to enact same act were possible and shun the usual endless visits to orphanages thus considering other important sects of life void of humanitarian approaches.
